2017-04-14 Ananta Ripa Ajmera - Awaken to Health with Ayurveda, the World’s Oldest Healing System 1:48:30
Unknown
Join Ananta, author of The Ayurveda Way (Storey Publishing, 2017) as she introduces you to Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, and the world’s oldest healing system. Ayurveda’s mindful lifestyle practices greatly complement and enhance insight meditation. Buddha’s own physician was an Ayurveda doctor named Jivak. And while many know Ayurveda in terms of its three doshas (mind-body types), there is a lot more to this holistic preventative healthcare system. Ayurveda is the first holistic science to define health as a four-dimensional state of wellbeing of body, mind, spirit, and the five senses. It takes a whole-systems, integrated approach that addresses these four dimensions of a human being simultaneously. Ayurveda teaches that health is our birthright, and that it exists at the core of each person, though hidden at times by disease and distress. In this workshop, Ananta will teach you how to start awakening to radiant health with: A simple, yet potent way to improve your digestion, and enhance your meditation practice, mental clarity, creativity and enthusiasm in daily life. A time-tested mindful eating practice that will allow you to enhance your experience of meditative moments throughout your day. A 5-10 minute evening ritual that will help you destress and sleep like a baby.

2017-05-30 Going Against the Stream: Guided Meditation 34:59
Martin Aylward
2500 years ago, Buddha taught meditation and inner inquiry as a revolutionary practice; Training the mind and freeing the heart to turn against the streams of greed, negativity and confusion that we see habitually affecting both our own inner lives, and driving the dominant forces of society. How can we genuinely explore and deeply understand how these currents and habits operate, so as to find an inner freedom and ease, and to make a wise and effective response to the world we live in?

2017-10-24 Tuesday Night Teacher-Led Sit with Lama Rod Owens 56:30
Lama Rod Owens
The great Black American singer and songwriter Stevie Wonder once sang, “Love’s in need of love today.” His words couldn’t be more true as we face a global community struggling with war, poverty, illness, climate instability, and the rise of political authorities and governments who do not seem to be grounded in compassion or kindness. We speak about love and attempt to practice love but some of us are losing faith in the transformative power of the wish for ourselves and others to be happy. Our practice of love is in need of our renewed faith in love. In this talk, we will be exploring the question of how practicing love can become a strategy that resists and undoes our experiences fear, apathy, and numbness as we attempt to live and love in a challenging world.
